Complex Behaviour Support
Supporting People with Complex Support Needs and Behaviours of Concern
At Connect Care Solutions, we understand that behaviours of concern are often a form of communication
and may be influenced by disability, mental health challenges, trauma, sensory needs, communication
difficulties, environmental factors, or unmet support needs.
Our approach focuses on understanding the person behind the behaviour, building positive relationships,
and providing consistent support that promotes safety, wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
Who We Commonly Support
We support people living with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Intellectual disability
- Psychosocial disabilities
- Mental health challenges
- Complex support needs
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Social and communication challenges
- Behaviours of concern
- Participants requiring Behaviour Support Plan implementation
- Participants transitioning to greater independence
Our Approach
We believe effective support starts with understanding the individual
- Our team focuses on:
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Supporting communication and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence and skill development
- Creating predictable and supportive environments
- Promoting choice and control
- Strengthening community participation
- Supporting participant goals and aspirations
We understand that progress takes time and that consistency is often one of the most important factors in
achieving positive outcomes.
Connect Care Solutions works closely with participants, families, Support Coordinators, Behaviour Support
Practitioners, and Allied Health Professionals to support the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans.
While we do not develop Behaviour Support Plans, we have experience assisting participants and support
networks to implement agreed strategies consistently across home, community, and Supported Independent
Living environments.
Collaborative Support
Supporting people with complex needs often requires collaboration between multiple stakeholders.
We work closely with:
- Participants
- Families and carers
- Support Coordinators
- Behaviour Support Practitioners
- Allied Health Professionals
- Medical and Mental Health Services
This collaborative approach helps ensure supports remain consistent, responsive, and aligned with
participant goals.
Supporting Positive Outcomes
Our focus is not simply on managing behaviour.
We focus on helping participants build skills, develop confidence, strengthen relationships, and participate
meaningfully in everyday life.
Success looks different for every person. For some participants, it may be increased independence at home.
For others, it may be improved emotional regulation, stronger community connections, greater participation
in daily activities, or progress towards personal goals.
